Chinese New Year

Early Years and Year 2 celebrated Chinese New Year together. Sun Nin Fai Lok or Happy New Year in Chinese! EYFS and Year 2 came to school in lucky red home clothes as they celebrated the Chinese New Year in fun, festive style. Both classes started with cleaning their classroom in typical Lunar New Year traditions to wash away the bad luck from the old year and set the tone for the new!
The morning was filled with dragon and lantern making along with Chinese writing crafts and drama! The good luck continued as Bella’s mum, Mrs Xie, very kindly bought all the children a fortune cookie, some chopsticks and gave the classes some lucky red envelopes! In the afternoon, we all shared a delicious bowl of noodles and soy sauce made by some Year 2 children whilst EYFS did a very impressive dragon dance!
