Pencil Party!

Last week, Key Stage 1 pupils had a wonderful time doodling, writing and drawing on a large roll of paper in the hall. Using a wide range of materials, the children were encouraged to explore their creativity while developing important skills. Throughout the session, pupils strengthened their fine motor skills—including gripping and holding pencils correctly—while also practising listening and following instructions during the party‑style games. The activity also supported their social development, giving them opportunities to share materials, take turns and celebrate each other’s ideas. It was a joyful, hands‑on experience that combined creativity with valuable learning.
