Meet the Governors

|
Appointed by Foundation/Trust from 19 September 2022 to 17 September 2026 I am delighted to be the chairperson of the Governing Body at Holy Trinity Catholic Primary School. I have been involved in Catholic education as a pupil aged 7 and have taught in Catholic Primary schools since 1980. I continue to work closely and remain involved in school life at Holy Trinity as a supply teacher and as a school Governor since retiring as deputy headteacher in 2018. I have had the privilege of watching the school evolve, change and adapt. I remain interested and aware of the ever-changing and challenging and stimulating aspects of education within the school, which are linked to wider elements. I have always valued the strong links and spiritual life involved with the parish of Holy Trinity, where the priests remain key to the spiritual development of children and staff. My faith has been strengthened by my experiences at school. I continue to enjoy opportunities for learning and training in this task. I know good communication is key to building this Governing Body, who are very talented and have varied skills, which can be incorporated in shaping the next stage or school life. |

Appointed by Foundation/Trust from 6 October 2023 to 5 October 2027 I have two children that attended Holy Trinity and my third child is currently in KS2, so Holy Trinity is a big part of our family. I am delighted to get this opportunity as foundation governor to support the school and staff in maintaining high educational standards at Holy Trinity both now and in the future. As a foundation governor, I feel I could become part of the team that supports the Headteacher, staff and most importantly, the well-being and safety of all our children. |

Appointed by Foundation/Trust from 28 June 2023 to 27 June 2027 I retired to Chipping Norton with my wife and daughter Emma, in July 2021. This was following a long career as a commercial director in the construction industry with extensive time spent living overseas. I was resident in a number of Middle East and Caribbean countries at various times over the last 35 years including Oman, UAE - Dubai & Abu Dhabi, Egypt, Qatar, Trinidad & Tobago. The church has been a big part of my life and I was fortunate to be able to attend Catholic Church in those countries. I am happy to be part of the Chipping Norton and Holy Trinity community and welcome the opportunity to serve as Foundation Governor at Holy Trinity school. |

About School Governors

-
Deciding how the school’s budget is spent and ensuring money is used wisely
-
Appointing and dismissing staff, and hearing appeals or grievances
-
Forming policies on the curriculum and collective worship
-
Setting standards for behaviour and discipline
-
Ensuring buildings and resources are safe, welcoming and fit for purpose
-
Admissions and appeal processes
The governing board meets 4 times per year.
Previous Governors
The following Governors resigned in the last 12 months:
Claire McGeehan, Headteacher 4.9.25
Marsha Rickard, Staff Governor 30.3.21-3.7.25
I have a concern. Who do I speak to? What process do I follow?
Every situation is unique, so please don’t hesitate to speak directly with the Headteacher.
I would like to become a Governor, what should I do?
