Black History Month

October was Black History Month. During this time, each class investigated a different figure or event from Black History as part of their history lessons. Some of the topics covered included Rosa Parks and the Bus Boycott, Martin Luther King's "I have a dream" speech, Walter Tull a black soldier and footballer, and investigations into famous Black figures from modern history. The children all responded with sensitivity and enthusiasm towards their chosen topics and understood the importance of diversity and equality.
