Remembrance - When They Serve, So Do Their Families

Year 6 were delighted to welcome Mr Siddall and Mr Brannigan this week as part of their Remembrance Day learning, exploring the vital role played by members of our community who serve in the Armed Forces. Under the theme, “When They Serve, So Do Their Families,” the children learned about the dedication, courage and sacrifices made not only by service personnel such as Mr Siddall and Mr Brannigan, but also by the families who support them. Through their discussions, pupils gained a deeper appreciation of the experiences of military families, including those within our own school community, such as Henry, Finley, Noah and Florence. The visit provided a fascinating insight into military life, and the children asked thoughtful questions, learning about the challenges, responsibilities and commitments faced by those who serve our country. It was a valuable opportunity for pupils to develop a greater understanding of the sacrifices made by Armed Forces personnel and their families, particularly during this time of remembrance.
