Governors

Pauline Brookes

Chair Of Governors
Appointed by Foundation/Trust From 19 September 2018 To 17 September 2022

Foundation Governor since 2003 and taught in the school previously. I have learnt a lot through previously working as a Governor on subject areas including mathematics, music and early years. I am the Governor with the maths focus, an area enhanced my achievement of MaST (Maths Specialist Teacher) through the University of Northamptonshire after 2 years of study. I have a very close relationship to the school, seeing it grow from 3 classes with 65 children to the present day. I have strong bonds with its ethos and understand how it has made its impact on parish and town. I enjoy opportunities of attending school fairs organised by the PTA and play performances when time allows. I retired from being a full-time deputy head teacher in a Catholic Primary school in Oxford in 2018. I hope to bring a wide outlook on the educational and character of the school. I love to have opportunities to learn from children proving the joy life and that learning is a natural process.

Clerk to the Governors

Lorna Buchanan

Headteacher
Ex-officio by virtue of office as Headteacher/Principal From 19 September 2014

After leaving school I worked for Lloyds Bank as a manager for 6 years. After having my three children. I wanted a different challenge and followed my childhood dream and trained as a primary school teacher at Oxford Brookes University achieving a 2:1 BA Hons. I have taught in five schools and held management positions in four of them. I have been through three Ofsted/HMI inspections and each time the school was awarded outstanding. I am a trained SENCO I was awarded a Postgraduate Certificate in Advanced Educational Practice in 2014. I have had the privilege to be the Headteacher of Holy Trinity School since 2013. Holy Trinity is a very high achieving academic school; however, I believe that a strong emphasis on a broad and balanced curriculum is essential. A curriculum that promotes the spiritual, moral, mental and physical development of children, I believe is equally important. My aim at HT is to continue to ensure all children have the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences that will prepare them for their future life.

Bernadette May

Foundation Governor
Appointed by Foundation/Trust From 4 June 2019 To 3 June 2023

Having just started my second term of office, which is a further four years, I realised that my original profile needed updating. No longer living in the parish of Holy Trinity but in St George & St Teresa's Knowle & Dorridge, I have further to travel to fulfil my duties as a Governor but it is so worthwhile and a great opportunity to keep up my association with the school which goes back to 1987. I quickly became involved in my new parish when I was coerced onto the cleaning team! I am also a Reader. Last year I became a member of a golf club and whilst learning to play have been fortunate in making many new friends to add to the valuable friendships forged whilst in Chipping Norton. In case I have too much free time my great nephews, although four years older, one in Year 5 and the other in Year 1, still need " baby sitting" occasionally and I then have the joy of their very energetic company in Hertfordshire. It is an honour to continue to serve Holy Trinity School and to offer time to support such an excellent Headteacher and staff, as they strive to work with each parent. ''Working together through the love of God" is not just the school motto but an actuality of how education in H T leads to the development of the strengths and unique talents of each child.

Seby Viegas

Foundation Governor
Appointed by Foundation/Trust From 21 August 2019 To 20 September 2023

I have two children that attend Holy Trinity and my third child due to start school in September 2020, so Holy Trinity is a big part of our family. I am delighted for getting this opportunity as foundation governor to support the school and staff in maintaining high educational standards at Holy Trinity both now and in the future. As a foundation governor, I feel I could become part of the team that supports the Headteacher, staff and most importantly, the well-being and safety of all our children.

I am truly passionate about education and have worked in education for 16 years. I have experience of all aspects of education and the constraints faced by schools. As Head of Curriculum I have had experience of inspections – achieving Ofsted outstanding judgements for my area, and my own teaching. I am passionate about teaching and learning, staff development, curriculum innovation, enrichment and enhancement and the promotion and the progression of pupils. I currently, also work as a Standards Verifier and Examiner for a large Awarding Body, which requires me to run quality checks on a variety of different education establishments. My eldest child is currently at the school and my youngest is due to join from September 2020. As a parent Governor I am excited to support school and promote and enhance the great things they do.
